鮭の定置網漁・2023年秋

立派なアキアジ。すぐさま船上で血抜きをして鮮度を保つ。

サケの撮影をしながら、道東の川を見て回り、

魚影がとても心細かったこの秋の羅臼の河川。

しかし、アキアジが入り始めたとのことで、

今年も乗せてもらってきた。

ニシンが来た。

幸運にも、ニシンの大漁に立ち会うことができました。
掬ってもすくってもニシン。
キラキラとした銀色の鱗がそこかしこに散らばります。
fortunately, I could photograph big catch of herring.
this trip was planend for this moment. I'm happy now.
but I will try tomorrow again.

春の定置、始まる。

 

今朝は今年初めての漁の撮影。

船上、目まぐるしく変わっていく状況の中で、

作業に邪魔にならないアングルを探して潜り込む。

photographed fishermen on the boat today also.

this kind of shooting is very severe sometimes.

It's difficult to find good angle for taking photos.

because photographer must not disturb their work on the boat.

完璧に、は無理にしても、

絶対に邪魔をしてはいけない。

しかし遠慮をしていては撮れない。

そういう意味では、漁船での撮影は、

映像チームのスチールに

似ているところがあるのかも知れない。

しかし…揺れる…。酔いました。笑）

春の定置、網入れ。

 

ツキノワグマに後ろ髪を引かれながら本州を出る。

苫小牧から、北見を経由して羅臼へ。

ひた走りに走って、眠らないまま早朝の漁船に乗り込む。

春定置の網入れ。土砂降りの中の出港となった。

arrived at Hokkaido, and I've begun taking photos of fixed net fishing.

Rausu is still cold, I feel difference of climate with Kanto.

I'll stay in Doto area more several days, this time.

網入れには、他の網からも手伝いに来る人達がいる。

かつて船に乗っていた人の姿も。

「久しぶり」

「また撮りに来たのか」

「そろそろ手順がわかっただろう。カッパ着て手伝うか？」

そんな風に彼等が笑顔で声をかけてくれる時、

どんな快心の一枚を撮った時よりも嬉しい。

初めて羅臼を訪れた時、遠い世界の人たちだと思っていた。

今は彼らを身近に撮らせてもらっていることが

僕の撮影人生の大きな支えになっている。

間に合ってよかった。

長い間撮らせてもらってきて

ようやくまとまった形で皆さんに見ていただけた気がする。
ずっと撮らせてくれた漁師の皆に感謝したい。

いや、たとえそうだとしても

使いこまれた仕事道具は格好いい。
I am really interested in fishermen's tools.

these are very useful and tough.

Now I cannot go to eastern Hokkaido.

hope I could go there again soon.

そろそろ海が賑やかになっているだろうなと思う今日この頃。
見返してみると、羅臼の定置網漁を撮らせてもらうようになったのは2013年。
随分撮ってきた。

定置網漁、土俵入れ。

烏賊と定置網漁。

6年前の水揚げ。
羅臼では、たくさんの烏賊が獲れていた。
海に出た多くの烏賊釣り漁船が、
煌々と羅臼を照らしていたのを思い出す。

How's this year?
Nature changes always.

今はどうだろう。獲るとらないだけではなくて、
もっと大きなうねりがあるような気する。
不変だと思っていた自然。でも実は、常に変わっていくんだなと。
昔の写真を見返して、そんな風に感じることもある。
