My second try to cook the curry was "chicken green curry".
It was nice lunch with a cup of chai souvenir from India.

Huten-Spice chicken curry. Nikon D70s + AF Nikkor 35mm/F2.0

Yesterday, I cooked spice curry by myself.
Usually, people cook curry with using the precooked curry roux ,in Japan.
But I cooked without that.
Many spices, and goya(bitter melon) that harvested in veranda of my house.
very interesting cooking.
I heard that goya is called "KARELA" from Nepali friend.
It's very popular ingredient of curry in Nepal .

Tohoku Disaster Report Vol.5--

the ferry to Oshima. Nikon D300 + AT-X 165 PRO DX

The ferry leaving to Oshima.
Look up into the sky, there are a good scenery of summer.
Near the place of that photo,
there are Kesen'numa Shishi-ori district
where I had visited many times for volunteer work.
This area was almost annihilated by Tsunami on March 11,
because that area was reclaimed low-land
.

Uranohama-port, the biggest port of Kesen’numa-Oshima.
You can see the pier at the center of this photograph.
Concrete pier has sunk under the sea,

because of land subsidence by earthquake.

I was very surprised at this terrific land-subsidence when I visited Oshima first.
This is same as city of Kesen'numa.

The ship which burned out under the blue sky.
Not only Kesen’numa city, but also Oshima was in the dangerous of burning out.
The huge flame had spread from the Kesen’numa city over the sea.
island’s people did fire fighting as hard as they could.
Because all of ships had moved away by Tsunami.
There were no escape route.

By the ferry(this ferry was contributed by Hiroshima prefecture), I visited Oshima. was 3rd time.
First I saw the big ferries pushed up to the land by Tsunami.

Tohoku Disaster Report Vol.1

20110808-_DSC9099shishiori
Shishiori Kesennuma. Nikon D300 + SIGMA10-20mm/F4-5.6 EX DC

here is the most devastated area "Kesennuma Shishiori-district" (気仙沼・鹿折)
after 5 months, still in the rubbles and dirty smells.

more than 15,000 people died, 5,000 people are still missing.
5 months have passed from the Tohoku disaster 311.

After the 3weeks volunteer work,
I visited Tohoku again, and saw what is going on there.
Felt the necessity for telling the now of the disaster area.

I try to make a report in English in spite of my bad English.
Because I want to let my overseas fellows know that.
Please read and watch the pictures.

First, I want to say, many peoples asked me “what’s happen in Fukushima?”
I know that most important thing for you is problem of nuclear.
But you know, Fukushima is just only a name of one prefecture.
Miyagui(宮城), Iwate(岩手)…also many people died.
The damage of Tsunami spread those 3 prefectures.
not only 3, so we call this "East - Japan disaster"..
but these 3 are most devastated.

I visited “Kesennuma” city(気仙沼) and an island “Kesennuma Oshima”(気仙沼大島)
These are located in Miyagui prefecture.
Many people struggling, not only in Fukushima.
The widespread area, north east part of Japan.
We call this area “TOHOKU”(東北).

I will report about Tohoku in several times on this blog.
Please check it.

I came home short time ago.
from end of last month, I was little bit busy…
few days I was in Osaka, and last 3days in Tohoku.

Tohoku was my 4th time.
This time,not for volunteer.
just saw some places where I liked during my volunteer work.
And met some persons in Kesennuma-Oshima.

In Tohoku after my three weeks volunteer experience,
I felt and think various things.
I will report about this soon.

Anyway,I'm little bit tired,
goood night...zzz...

I went to a photo exhibition at Shinjuku.
6 photographers have exhibited pictures of the Tohoku Disaster.
Pictures have strong power,
I was defeated by cruel landscapes in spite of
experience of volunteer work in there.
I was moved.

Tomorrow, I will be in Tohoku.
and will see more sights.
keep going.
