流氷を追って。

見渡す限りの視界を白く埋め尽くす流氷。
ここは海だったか？と首をかしげたくなるほど、その景色は広大で、不思議なものでした。

ここ道東もすっかり冬本番。
せっかくだから住んでいる間に堪能しようと、ここ数日は網走に流氷を追いかけていました。

In eastern Hokkaido area,　the place faced sea of Okhotsk
each winter ice floes from Russia seal off Abashiri's shore.
Now is the season...
In these days, I'm trying to shoot the typical winter landscape with drift ice (流氷).

流氷というものは、岸に押し寄せてガッチリ動かないものと勝手にイメージしていたのですが、
なかなかどうして、とっても気まぐれな奴等です。こちらは1月31日。

But it was not so easy.
Ryuhyo(drift ice) moves every day by wind.
In this photo, the ocean completely covered with Ryuhyo... but ...

同じ場所の3日後はこんな感じです。空の機嫌であっちに行ったりこっちに来たり。
流氷は、まさに風任せ。フウテンですな。

ウチから網走までだいたい車で1時間ほどかかるのですが、
一面の流氷景色に出会えることもあれば、吹雪いて何も見えなくて、
車の中で缶コーヒーすすって帰ってくるだけのときもありました。

能取岬にて。この日は残念ながら遠かった。
遠く水平線上に見える白い帯が流氷です。

もう少し余裕があれば、ウトロや羅臼に通いたかったのですが…、機会を作って行こうと思います。
何より見たいのは、オオワシやアザラシなど流氷の上で生きる動物たち。
今シーズン中に見れるといいな～。

Next, I want to take photos of the animals on the ice floe.
