8月の里帰り、近況など。

メバルの煮付け。やっぱ瀬戸内はコレですね。美味しいです。
…というわけで8月は先祖の地、松山へ。
墓参りを済ませた後は、瀬戸内海の恵みに舌鼓です。

Visited my ancestors home "Matsuyama"(松山) in August.
Matsuyama faces inland sea (Setonai-Kai). So you can enjoy awesome seafood.
Sashimi, Tempura, Taimeshi...

例年の如く、島にも渡りましたが、今回はそれよりも
古い料理屋や寿司屋など、あちこちでひたすら食べ歩いていたような気がします。

I enjoyed eating fresh seafood after visiting our ancestor's grave.
Mid August is the season which to pray for ancestors in Japan.
We call that "Obon"(御盆).

20歳の頃から帰省すると毎回お邪魔するバーも。
半世紀を超えた名店に、「おひさしぶりです」と入って行けるのも
とっても贅沢なこと。ありがたいことです。

I went an old bar in Matsuyama.
It's famous place among persons who like Suntory.
This bar is older than 50 years old!
I visit there every year.
It is one of the my happiest time in my life.

北海道とはまた違う、美しい味と海の街、松山。
帰省というより、楽しんでしまうこれは旅行だなと毎回思う次第です。

Matsuyama is fantastic place. ...Good food, good ocean.
There are so many attractive things different from Hokkaido.
-Of course I love Hokkaido also.-
I enjoyed Matsuyama this year too.



Meeting with Japan Bear Network members. iPhone 5S

月末は、JBN（日本クマネットワーク）の関東地区会に初めて参加させていただきました。
保護活動に携わる方や研究者など、皆さんのお話を非常に興味深く拝聴しました。

And the end of month, I attended a meeting of Japan Bear Network.
I could talk with researchers, persons who works on the protecting bears.
It was so valuable time for me.




僭越ですが、私もヒグマに関してお話をさせていただきました。
四季を通じて追ったヒグマの食性を痕跡や生体写真、動画を見ていただきながら
皆さんとお話ししました。
緊張しましたが、多くの方のお話を伺うことができて
非常に実りのある会合になりました。

たくさんの方が、長い時間をかけてクマや動物、そして自然と向き合っている。
深い知識や、難しい現状と同時に、愛情も感じて
僕もこの人たちに及ばないまでも何かお役にたてたらと思います。

最近よく「君は人を撮りなさい」とアドバイスをいただきますが、
いつか彼等のようにクマに関わって働く人々の姿を、
写真におさめていけたらなと思いを新たにしました。

Some people made speech at this meeting.
And I also did that. I'm not a researcher as you know.
I did that as a photographer.
Spoke about bear's food habit with pictures & videos.
It was also good experience.

さて、些末な出来事もいくつかあったのですが、
8月はだいたいこんな感じです。
今月から、またフィールドに出かけたいと思っています。
その前にデスクワークですね～。

Anyway, August has gone already. Fall is coming.
I wish I can go out to take pictures of wildlife soon!
But before that, I have to do some work in front of my desk now. :)
